Outreach November 2016
Minnesota House Treatment and Development Centre in George is celebrating its 14th Birthday in October 2015. It was with great joy, excitement and compassion that the patients, volunteers and staff of Minnesota House Treatment Centre celebrated their birthday by participating in one of the most important steps in recovery, the step that focusses on serving others. The team decided to reach out to the local community, as the Centre is situated in Blanco, the focus was on the Blanco Clinic in order to provide children passing the clinic on their way home from school with sandwiches, biscuits and cupcakes. People who needed services from the clinic were also provided with food. Appreciation was shown from the nurses on duty stating that they appreciate the gesture as they could give the patients suffering from tuberculosis something to eat in order for their medication to work effectively. Minnesota House is in a transformation phase with emphases on empowerment, accredited training, and wellness–training-development for businesses as well as offering outpatient programmes tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs. The outreaches to the local community will continue as part of the programme at Minnesota House Treatment Centre as generosity and compassion lays a strong foundation in any recovery process.
